Our Operations
All job roles within geriatrics have one thing in common: it is meaningful, exciting, and developing to work in the area of geriatrics (VO geriatrics). Our tools are science and proven experience, and we have the combined resources of Uppsala University Hospital at our disposal. We dare to try new paths, and our driving force is to make a difference for our patients every day. 30A is now looking for more substitutes for the summer. In this ad, we are addressing medical students from semester 10 who want to work as junior doctors with nursing tasks. The purpose of the recruitment is to strengthen staffing for the summer.
Your Assignment
Junior doctor with nursing tasks. Medical students can be employed to perform certain selected tasks that are not usually part of the doctor role. The requirement is that the junior doctor has passed semester 10 and has studied and been approved in the subject and the exams corresponding to the subject/specialty within the employing area. Junior doctors with nursing tasks are employed with the title of doctor, not licensed. It is a requirement that you have previously worked as a nursing assistant during your education, which provides a better understanding of what nursing work entails. Examples of possible tasks include preparing and administering medications; tablets, infusions, and injections, blood cultures, IV cannulation, NEWS checks, managing and changing central lines, placing catheters, taking EKGs, preparing and administering inhalations, taking venous samples, placing feeding tubes, administering medications via feeding tubes, distributing medications before discharge, and restocking medication carts if the pharmacist is not on duty, participating in basic nursing care. If necessary, you will also perform nursing assistant tasks on the ward. In this role, you will not be performing junior doctor tasks.
Your Qualifications
You are a medical student from semester 10. You have good knowledge and skills in basic nursing. The variation in work means that you should be flexible, responsible, and able to adapt to acute situations and be ready to step in where needed. You also have good computer skills, and it is an advantage if you are familiar with the Cosmic journal system. You enjoy working with elderly people, have a good attitude, and possess strong collaboration skills. You are also an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. Personal qualities are highly valued.
We Offer
We offer you a summer substitute position or hourly employment during the summer of 2026. We prefer that you can work the entire summer or alternatively weeks 25-29 or 30-33 (with introduction before week 30). The application deadline is March 15, 2026.
